Fifteen years ago, Michael Heiser was a grad student in biblical languages when a classmate handed him a Hebrew Bible, pointed out a verse, and said, “Read this.” Michael did—and his understanding of how the Bible communicates its truth to us changed forever.
Dr. Heiser, the academic editor at Logos Bible Software, presents in Supernatural and The Unseen Realm the fruit of fifteen years of researching what the Bible really says about the unseen world of the supernatural — unfiltered by tradition or by theological presuppositions. “People shouldn’t be protected from the Bible,” Dr. Heiser says, but theological systems often do just that, by “explaining away” difficult or troublesome passages of Scripture because their literal meaning doesn’t fit into our tidy systems.
