The Use and Misuse of the King James Bible – Author Mark Ward | Episode 107

The subject of today’s show with Author Mark Ward is near and dear to my heart because it’s one of the reasons I almost rejected Christianity.
When I was transforming from atheist to a believer in God, one thing that irritated the junk out of me was the different translations of the bible and how very different they were. I bet I bought five different translations. I spoke with Pastors, Deacons, Bible professors and anyone else that would help me.
I almost threw in the towel thinking, “If Christians can’t even get the text of their own holy book right, then what else are the screwed up about.” And forget the King James Bible, if I was forced to read that thing, I’m done.
Today’s guest, Author Mark Ward:
- Has a Ph.D. in New Testament interpretation
- Authored textbooks on Biblical Worldview
- His most recent project is AUTHORIZED – The Use and Misuse of the King James Bible.
In our conversation we go deep about:
- The good, bad and, “ugly” on Bible translations
- How we came to the modern translations
- What is the best Bible for you to read?
