What is a Man’s Beauty? Singer-Songwriter, Author Paul Good PLUS an Update with John Schlitt| Episode 65

Today we have a two-for-one show.  First up, I speak with singer-songwriter, author, Paul Good. Paul is releasing two really good projects; his new album, Andreia and his book Rooster Call.

Then, Grammy-winning rocker John Schlitt returns to talk about The Union of Sinners and Saints, his newly formed band with Whiteheart’s Billy Smiley.

Paul Good

A New jersey native, singer/songwriter, author and speaker Paul Good grew up on Springsteen and Bon Jovi, where the performance bar for entering the music scene was quite high. Taking the challenge, he developed his stage presence and songwriting skills in the clubs, colleges, and coffee houses around the New York/New Jersey area. However, as a minister’s son brought up in a conservative Christian home, the support for a career in rock music was less than enthusiastic, and, sensing a call to ministry, Good entered seminary. While there, he developed a vision for passionately delivering relevant Bible teaching in a pop/rock concert setting. After graduating with an M.Div. degree in 2001, and a few years in the pastorate, he took the leap and moved to Nashville to pursue his music goals.

Good continues to ignite and inspire his audiences toward a closer walk with Jesus, wrapping evangelical teaching and worship around cutting-edge pop music.

Schlitt-Good
John Schlitt, never one to shy from a mic, briefly joined in with my conversation with Paul Good. John joined me later at the National Religious Broadcasters conference to discuss his new project The Union of Sinners and Saints.

Few artists have been more influential in defining contemporary Christian rock ‘n’ roll than Petra and Whiteheart. The two bands collectively have sold more than 12 million records, generated more than 25 #1 songs, and earned more than 15 Grammy and 40 Dove nominations and awards. It seemed like only a matter of time before John Schlitt, lead singer of Petra, and Billy Smiley, guitarist, singer, and founding member of Whiteheart, would team up. That time is now with The Union of Sinners and Saints.

The idea of a new project really intrigued both of us,” Schlitt declares. “With our histories, it only made sense to feature Petra and Whiteheart favorites along with the new songs that we were writing in the studio.”

Fans can look forward to the release of the new CD project, available exclusively at Lifeway Stores on June 17, 2016, and digitally on iTunes and other popular online outlets worldwide. The project will feature ten new compositions, along with updated versions of Petra and Whiteheart classics.
