Former Muslim, Christian convert, Majed El Shafie was arrested, tortured and sentenced to die in Egypt because of his faith in Jesus Christ. Escaping to Israel, he was imprisoned until his eventual release a year and a half later. Today Rev. Majed fights for those persecuted around the world. Pressuring governments, and challenging both world and spiritual leaders, Majed has not been afraid to put everything on the line to help those in need, including his life.

Spiritual Hack: YouVersion’s Bible App
One of the top New Year Resolution’s Christians make is to read the bible more, and more consistently. I have a tool that can help you do just that. It’s the YouVersion Bible App and I am finding it to be a fantastic bible study tool. This free app from LifeChurch.tv has over 124 Million downloads.
It gives you access to 739 Bible versions in over 460 languages and they’re not all those typical free crappy versions that you see. It has The New Living Translation, NASB, NIV and many many more, all FREE. Seriously FREE!
I love this thing and I’m just scratching the surface of this powerful little app.
– I use the Parallel Bible tool when I want to compare different verses side by side.
– Straight from the app, I can post to Twitter and Facebook. I even throw stuff into Evernote.
– The highlighting and bookmarking features are great.
To me it’s in the reading plans where the real power lies. You can setup your own plan or choose from the plans they have setup for you. I like:
– Dave Ramsey’s Financial Wisdom from Proverbs
– Pastor Andy Stanley’s “How to Be Rich” reading plan is in there.
– The One Year Bible Reading Plan.
Right now, I’m working my way through the Chronological Plan where I’m going through the bible in the historical order that the events happened.
You can setup the plan to email you reminders everyday. It’ll even email an accountability partner so they can NAG you into reading. And we all need to be nagged every now and then
