Take Your Life From Messy to Meaningful with Monica Schmelter

Over the past year or so, I’ve been slowly minimizing the stuff in my life. Letting go of unreasonable attachments, things I never use, and general decluttering. I have come to LOVE throwing stuff away! I’ve really latched onto the minimalist mindset. While I’m still a work in progress, it’s freeing physically, emotionally and spiritually. You’ll likely hear me talk about this journey in coming months.

Today’s special guest, Monica Schmelter has an interesting take on the subject. She’s is a media executive, author, speaker, and host of the popular talk show Bridges on the Christian Television Network.

In her new book Messy to Meaningful: Lessons From the Junk Drawer, Monica shows us to sort through our junk; both physically and spiritually. She helps us recognize what we need, throw out what’s unnecessary, and move forward. She shares how powerful Biblical truths will get us to a place of physical, emotional and spiritual freedom.

In addition to the book, we talk about:

  • The connection between the junk drawer and our spiritual life
  • How to free yourself from the stuff holding you down
  • She reveals her our spiritual junk drawer along with her demeaning, frankly, cruel experiences growing up and how she found grace and gave forgiveness
