Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Originally from my hometown, Cincinnati, Ohio. Eddie Hedges toured with bands such as Bel Biv Devoe, Sheila E., Johnny Gill, and worked with Arsenio Hall and Jay Leno and many others. He is a founding member of the multi-platinum band Blessid Union of Souls with hits like “I Believe,” “I Wanna Be There,” “Light in Your Eyes,” “Let Me Be The One” and “Hey Leonardo,”
Then after 10 years, and at the peak of their popularity, Eddie left the band.
Today, Eddie and I talk about:
- Why he left Blessid Union of Souls and the power of a mother’s wisdom
- The joy that trumps playing for over 100K people
- How God used him while he was a handyman
- Was Blessid Union of Souls a Christian Band?
- and the miraculous impact of his song “I will be Strong”
